Studies and Research on Online Volunteering
Very little research has been done relating to online volunteering.
Here is research that we know about:
The Virtual Volunteering Project, based at the University of
Texas at Austin, did a few
informal studies regarding online
volunteering among different services and their users in 1997,
1998 & 1999.
Vic Murray and Yvonne Harrison of the University of Victoria
produced Virtual Volunteering: Current Status and Future Prospects,
regarding online volunteering in Canada, with findings applicable
for online volunteering in other countries.
We know of no other online resources regarding research or
studies into online volunteering/virtual volunteering. If you
know of such a study, please contact
us with more information, so we can highlight it here.
