www.gedaref.com www.sudantelecentreacademy.org what is GDCO GDCO is the founder of the first national Telecentre academy in Africa and the middle east and it is the 13th in the world (Sudan national Telecentre academy – SuNTA - ). It is the winner of information for development award i4d 2007 awards ( e-India 2007) also the winner of i4d 2008 awards for the best innovations at the grassroots Telecentre GDCO is partnership with the great people of Eindhoven represented by the Digital City of Eindhoven (DSE-Netherlands). DSE donated 750 computers to GDCO and more than ten projects were established. The projects includes training and enhance capacity building, Sudan Telecentre academy (SuNTA) , e-farmer (e-agriculture), e-medicine, Gedaref university support (e-education), using of ICT for disaster control. Speeding e-government, graduate support.
The objectives of GDCO 1- Best utilization of ICT for community development in Sudan. 2- improve the quality of training to enhance capacity building of Telecentre mangers , operators and the community leaders and provide them with quality skills and certification. 3- Staff exchange, sharing experiences, knowledge and best practices with the national and global Telecentre network to establish Sudan Telecentre National Network (STNN). 4- bridging the digital divide (gab )specially within disabled to include (integrate) them in the society (community) through ICT. 5- establishment of strong partnership to support existing Telecentre and establish new ones and seeking financial and technical support for the sustainability of Telecentres. 6- Co-ordination between the working organizations and institutions in the field of Information Technology to achieve the shared goals and participate in establishing and operating Telecentres and this will lead to utilization and mobilization of available infrastructure of partners and provide technical support to Telecentres. 7- Providing the Government with technical support and consultancies to execute it's technical programs to speed up e-services to the community and help to support and manage more than one thousands governmental school and community Telecentres constructed by the Sudanese information supporting fund managed by the national telecommunication corporation (NTC).
Vision Looking today with the eyes of tomorrow . every village in Sudan is a knowledge centre. The disabled included (integrated) in the community (society) and the digital gap is bridged in Sudan.
