Organization details

The International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR) is a not-for-profit intergovernmental organisation mandated to promote sustainable development, poverty alleviation and environmental amelioration with bamboo and rattan. With 28 member nations at present, INBAR runs, or is involved in, bamboo and rattan development projects and associated activities in over 20 countries. Our primary activities are technology transfer, rural development, capacity building and improvement of the enabling environment, achieved through strong networks of local and regional partners. INBAR is the International Commodity Body for bamboo and rattan, and works to promote sectoral development through product innovation, improved reporting, trade development and awareness raising.
