Once your organization has registered with the Online Volunteering service, you will get access to the website’s opportunity and volunteer management tools.
The first step is to post an online volunteering opportunity in which you describe the task for which you seek support.
UNV reviews all opportunities before they are published on the website to ensure they are in line with the criteria and provides guidance on how to present the opportunities in order to attract applications from qualified candidates.
Once your opportunity has been published, you will receive applications from candidates who are eager to support your organization and it is up to you to select the volunteers with the most suitable profile. UNV does not pre-screen applications.
Candidates with whom you wish to collaborate have to be contacted directly by email, which gives you the opportunity to ask them to reconfirm their interest, share additional information about the task to be performed and agree on next steps.
To inform those candidates whose application was not successful, check the boxes next to their names and then hit the Reject Applications button. This will remove their applications from your list of active volunteers and trigger an automated message to inform them of your decision.
