Task
Background and objectives
Requirements
This project aims to improve the hygiene and quality of sanitation of several schools in Cameroon. Ensuring access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in schools improves health, school attendance, and learning performance. This is crucial to create an environment for a sustainable development of young People in Cameroon. The initial proposal tries to create and improve hygiene and sanitation infrastructures of 10 secondary schools and 10 primary schools, targeting more than 25 000 children and teens. This project is under the scope of Sustainable Development Goal 4 - Quality Education - and 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation. According to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Standards for Schools in Low-cost Settings , schools, particularly those in rural areas, often completely lack drinking-water and sanitation and hand washing facilities; alternatively, where such facilities do exist they are often inadequate in both quality and quantity.
