We are requesting the help of volunteers to develop project proposals aimed at supporting the voluntary return of IDPS to their original places of settlement. Our region has been facing a socio political crisis for the past three years. Violent clashes between military and armed separatists drove thousands of Cameroonians to flee their home. With over 437 000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Cameroon hosted mainly in the Southwest and Northwest Regions of the country, and other 35 000 Cameroonian refugees in Nigeria in 2019, there is an acute need to provide assistance.
We are hoping that the situation will improve in the upcoming months that will favour the voluntary return of IDPS to their original places of settlement. Volunteers will research past and current project proposals and ideas and will formulate project proposals in different domains of intervention such as health, education, transport, social integrations and economic empowerment.
Project development and management
Development programme/project administration
The mission of CAMAAY is to help vulnerable or marginalized young people achieve their full potential, regardless of sex, background, religion, color, or mental or physical disability, and to harness that energy to create healthy, prosperous, independent, and sustainable communities. Our goals for Cameroon are food security, economic independence, a sustainable environment, and human dignity for all. CAMAAY is a fledgling organization with a lot of passion and project ideas.
Lessons learned from other project implementation, including projects conducted by the UNDP and other international organisations show the need to integrate both humanitarian and sustainable development aid to facilitate the voluntary return of IDPs. Apart from insecurity, unwillingness to return and constraints to sustainable returns generally include the lack of safe and sustainable access to essential goods, basic services (particularly education, water and security infrastructure), and livelihood assets and opportunities. The long-term sustainability of returns will, therefore, depend on the provision of services, including in the education sector. The program is connected to the SDGS 1,3 , 5, 10.15.
