Background and objectives
Requirements
We seek the support of a team of online to contribute to the data analysis of a project by 1) Reading assigned literature in the fields related to environmental, economic and social sustainability 2) Performing statistical regression and inferential analysis on innovation data set 3) Performing Monte-Carlo simulation and model optimization on simulated health data 4) Developing models, indicators and best sustainability practices 5) Using data to analyze the implication of cell-based animal products with life on land and below water 6) Concluding how will the development of agriculture biotechnology and the transfer of knowledge of technology reshape the situation of food/water/resource shortage in Africa. Online volunteers are expected to be available 1-5 hours per week for 5 weeks. Status updates will be made through emails. With permission, the volunteers will be acknowledged and recognized on our affiliated websites and/or publications.

Founded by Kristopher Gasteratos and his colleagues at Harvard University, Cellular Agriculture Society (CAS) is an international 501c3 nonprofit using donations to advance cellular agriculture, the production of animal products from cells rather than entire animals. The assignment primarily serves to promote UN SDGs 1, 2, 3, 13, 14, and 15, which are simultaneously our organization's goals. We expect to analyze, at the first time, the overall impacts of the recent innovations in animal-free products on our global economics, public health, water resources, biodiversity, food shortage, and greenhouse gas emission. Considering the amount of work to be accomplished, this project needs the volunteers' commitments and involves our global partners including philanthropy in Africa, organizations in Asia, ventures in Silicon Valley, eminent research institutes, and governmental agencies.
Volunteers: 20 needed
1-5 hours per week / 5 weeks
Basic data analytic skills with Stata or R is a must. Skills in Matlab and optimization algorithms are preferred but not required. Good inter-person skills preferred.
