Background and objectives
Requirements
The volunteers will translate about 8 documents each about the Protection of children during the Coronavirus pandemic from English to Spanish. The documents are medium length (10-15 pages) in general, but some will be shorter. The volunteer will be required to start ASAP with some weeks requiring more hours of translating - especially the first weeks, while the last two weeks might require less work. The volunteers will be able to strengthen their knowledge of the coordination of child protection case management responses during the process of translation. The work of the volunteers is highly valuable, and their efforts will be recognized and acknowledged by name in the translated documents.

Background and objectives: The Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR) works to support the field colleagues working with coordination of Child Protection. Extra support is now needed because of the increased challenges in relation to COVID-19. CP AoR plan to make a package of the most important resources available in multiple languages, since the pandemic will reach a lot of countries in the common months. It is important to make this package available in many languages as fast as possible. This would be a very valuable contribution to the coordination work.
Volunteers: 2 needed
6-10 hours per week / 4 weeks
The volunteers should be fluent in English and Spanish. A background in development studies, human rights, IHL, and child protection is an advantage. Previous translation experience of translating protection-related documents (child protection or gender-based violence) is an asset. Applicants may be asked to translate a text as part of the selection process.
