Translation and interpretation
The CMS Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia (Raptors MOU) aims to promote internationally coordinated actions to achieve and maintain the favourable conservation status of 93 species of migratory birds of prey in 131 Range States across Africa/Eurasia, and to reverse their decline. A key commitment of Signatories to the Raptors MOU is to prepare a national or regional conservation strategy or action plans for species covered by the MOU that occur in their country, within two years of the MOU becoming effective. These strategies are extremely important because they effectively translate the wide range of conservation activities established in the Action Plan to the MoU (Annex 3), into clear and focused priority actions to be implemented at the national or regional level. Slovakia has submitted an action plan in Slovak and we would like to publish an English version of it to facilitate knowledge sharing among Signatories, Range States, and beyond.
