Background and objectives
We are seeking online volunteers to translate a strategy (321 pages, from French into English) for the information of our donors, partners and diplomatic missions of English speaking countries, and also for fundraising purposes. Sectors involved are decentralization, community development and municipalities. The deadline for submitting the translation would be 08 June. At least two online volunteers will be asked to proofread the translations. A strong sense of confidentiality is necessary for the task. Due credit will be given to volunteers for their contributions, and their names will be mentioned on the finalized publication. "We thank our UN Online volunteers (names) for their translation of this publication".
Translation and interpretation
Commonwealth & Development has recently started its operations in a new Region last year, and the organization is fortunate to have the support of many donors from development agencies, bilateral and multilateral cooperation, trusts and foundations. Each year, we develop a specific strategy in partnership with the government, to be submitted to our donors and partners. This year, we have elaborated a Strategy for Communities and Local Development, and it was validated during the Commonwealth day activities, in the presence of the government, all stakeholders of the Region and a special Guest from the diplomatic sphere. The report was written in French because the civil servants in the administration that helped us with the secretariat work were all French speaking Cameroonians, and we can only send the report in English, which is the language of the Commonwealth.
