Background and objectives
The volunteer will have the sole responsibility of writing on grants. Prior experience in grant writing is mandatory for this role. The volunteer is expected to focus on writing grants for foundation, institution etc for the purpose of constructing and operating a community women empowerment Centre in Cameroon. Funding is critical to start and complete this project so the volunteer needs to master grant writing. While online volunteers can be asked to research potential donor organizations, they will never be asked to contact individuals/donors or any third parties in their communities or approach their personal contacts. Online Volunteers will not be asked to solicit donations/fund from third parties.

Other communications related experience
During the last four years, the Anglophone Crisis has engulfed Cameroon in a brutal conflict. What started as peaceful strikes to end the marginalization of English-speaking regions in the country quickly turned into violent revolts, with government forces and anti-government forces clashing, plunging the country into destructive conflict. It remains unclear how and when the crisis will end. To date, over 2 000 civilians have been killed, 180 villages have been burnt down and some 160 000 refugees have settled in Nigerian camps while more than 200 000 citizens have been considered internally displaced persons (IDPs), the majority of them being women. An estimated 274,908 civilians are currently internally displaced in the NWR. City of Hope will provide healing to women from their past trauma through therapy and life skills programming, while providing them with the essential ingredients needed to move forward in life – love and community. The Center will be run and operated by young feminist activists, and will provide a safe and nurturing environment with enriching and educational activities.
