CAEPA is dedicated to ensuring that equality of participation and access to sustainable, socio-economic development is available to vulnerable and marginalised women and girls in North-West and South-West Cameroon. During the last two years, the Anglophone Crisis has engulfed Cameroon in a brutal conflict. To date, over 2 000 civilians have been killed, 180 villages have been burnt down and some 160 000 refugees have settled in Nigerian camps while more than 200 000 citizens have been considered internally displaced persons (IDPs), the majority of them being women. An estimated 274,908 civilians are currently internally displaced in the NWR. Our objectives is to restore security, trust and confidence in rule of law and Government authorities; to strengthen Government, local authorities, civil society and existing conflict resolution mechanisms at the community level in their capacity to work towards reconciliation (especially to deal with reconstruction sensitively) and to bring dividends of peace to help reducing and preventing tensions.
