Background and objectives
GANHRI works in four official languages (EN, FR, ES, AR) and regularly produces documents, reports, newsletters, etc. that need to be translated to become accessible to all its members, which are the national human rights institutions across the world. In particular, GANHRI looks for volunteers who can help translating from ENGLISH into ARABIC and vice-versa. 2018 workshop report on NHRIs and IDPs The length of the documents to translate may vary a lot, but normally it can go from one page to 20 pages maximum, according to the kind of document. GANHRI will make sure to acknowledge the contribution of volunteers to its work by distributing participation certificate.
Translation and interpretation
GANHRI (the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions) formerly know as ICC (International Coordinating Committee) and the Paris Principle are celebrating their 25th anniversary next year in 2018 (1993-2018). GANHRI works in support of the national human rights institutions (NHRIs) for the promotion and protection of human rights from all around the world. GANHRI has around 100 members and we promotes and strengthens NHRIs to be in accordance with the Paris Principle while providing leadership in the promotion and protection of human rights.
Volunteers: 3 needed
6-10 hours per week / 2 weeks
Arabic mother tongue, good knowledge of English, translation experience.
