Background and objectives
The purpose is to support GNDR Secretariat by providing high quality analysis of the donor funding environment for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), including but not limited to multilateral and bilateral, trust and foundations, and other non-traditional sources such as but not limited to Islamic financing. The volunteer will be responsible for conducting a desk-based review of donor websites and other sources to understand current and future trends in funding amounts and priorities.
Disaster risk reduction
The role will help GNDR expand its outreach to new donors and explore new areas of funding. This will help to diversify its funding and tap into available resources not known so far. Outputs: Identification of relevant funding agencies (multilateral and bilateral organisations, trusts and foundations, others); Identification of donor trends and preferences; Identification of key global as well as government strategies and papers.
Volunteers: 1 needed
6-10 hours per week / 13 weeks
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: • Degree in a relevant subject; • English to proficiency level; • Desired - Degree in International development OR similar. EXPERIENCE: • A good understanding of trends in funding or organisations or corporate environments; • Knowledge of international development work and civil society. SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Good communication skills, including written and spoken English. Other language skills would be an asset to broaden the research
