Translation and interpretation
HI advocates for more inclusive policies that adequately address the needs and rights of persons with disabilities. We aim at providing evidence and recommendations to policy makers to help them implement the legal human rights obligations they’re accountable for. Safe mobility is central for guaranteeing to persons with disabilities access to all spheres of society and ability to participate to in their community. The management of this sector of activity can have a huge impact on the individual condition and status of people. Especially in urban context, as more than half of persons with disabilities worldwide live in urban areas, where they face considerable accessibility barriers. Beyond the benefits to persons with disabilities, addressing safe mobility is beneficial for society as a whole.
