Background and objectives
Requirements
The volunteer will be asked to translate texts from French into English. All communications between the volunteer and the organisation will be in English. The volunteer will be asked to translate two Powerpoint presentations (35-50 slides/presentation). The Powerpoint presentations are used for trainings on the topic of criminal forensics, so some experience with translating legal or scientific terms would be beneficial.

In recognition of the fundamental principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) is dedicated to protecting the basic legal rights of ordinary citizens in developing countries. Specifically, IBJ works to guarantee all citizens the right to competent legal representation, the right to be protected from cruel and unusual punishment, and the right to a fair trial.
Volunteers: 1 needed
6-10 hours per week / 3 weeks
Fluency in English and near fluency or professional-level in French. Previous translation experience as well as familiarity with legal terms would be an asset.
