KIND was founded over 20 years ago with the core mission of “Empowering Children, Transforming Lives”. We are a registered NGO with charitable status and a proven track record and legacy of impactful community interventions. From our home base at the Kind center in Laventille, we have touched the lives of over 17,000 at-risk children and their families in the areas of Literacy, Computer Technology, Vocational Training, Martial Arts, Life and Social Skills, Music and Dance, and Family Integration. In order for children to become healthy, well adjusted, and productive societal members, there are several key developmental areas that should be engaged. These include academic, cognitive, social, emotional, moral and physical development. The KIND MIND Initiative intends to foster the holistic development of children by addressing the above mentioned developmental needs. The program incorporate diverse components including literacy, social education, martial arts and dance.
