LIGHT FOR THE WORLD is looking for three online volunteers who are willing to jointly translate a training manual for community workers to service wheelchairs. The 90 page document contains many pictures and large writing and outlines how to take measurements, train wheelchair users and maintain wheelchairs. The aim of the translation is to make the manual available for a training of community workers on the ground in Mozambique. Knowledge on terminology of disability and rehabilitation is a plus.

Translation and interpretation
LIGHT FOR THE WORLD is an international NGO working in the fields of prevention of blindness, rehabilitation and rights of persons with disabilities. For almost 10 years LIGHT FOR THE WORLD has supported projects in community based rehabilitation in Mozambique to enable local partners to bring services to the communities, involve families in the rehabilitative process of persons with disabilities and thus improve their quality of life in a setting where no special services are available. In 2019, we entered into partnership with a specialized organization on production and servicing of local wheelchairs. Our beneficiaries will receive wheelchairs and community workers will be trained to provide the technical support. The translation of the training manual into Portuguese is crucial to distribute the to the local partners in Mozambique, to best possible learning. The programme contributes to SDG 3 (Healthy lifes) by promoting access of persons with disabilities to assistive devices.
