Background and objectives
As a preparation for a training on the UNCRPD and SDGs for persons with disabilities, members of DPOs and the Mozambican DPO Network, we need accurate translations of 12 UN documents (CRPD Committee General Comments and Reports from the Special Rapporteur of the Human Rights Council on the Rights of persons with disabilities). Each document has between 13 and 25 pages and around 8000-11.000 words, summing up to 245 pages and 121.700 words - as this is quite a big workload we are looking for several volunteers to share this task, please mention in your application how many documents you would be willing to translate and in which timeframe! Volunteers will be duly credited on the final products.
Translation and interpretation
Together with the International Disability Alliance (IDA) and several other partners we are organizing a training on Civil Society reporting on the UNCRPD/SDGs for organizations of persons with disability under the DPO Network and some participants from other Portuguese speaking African countries. To be able to deliver this Training, we need key documents and materials in Portuguese. Your contribution will be an accurate translation of some of the necessary materials.

11-20 hours per week / 4 weeks
Excellent language proficiency in English and Portuguese, well developed translation skills, familiarity with legal texts, international law and UN jargon. Applicants may be asked to translate a short paragraph as part of the selection process.
