Background and objectives
Poverty and lack of access to finance are some barriers women in rural communities in Africa face. Love and Care for People will like to develop a micro finance institution where women in rural communities can have access to funds in order to establish a business and support their families. The online volunteer will develop a solid proposal to set up a micro finance institution and identify potential donors and partners for the project. Volunteers will not be asked to submit funding proposals on behalf of Love and Care for People. Communication will be through WhatsApp, Skype calls and emails.

Love and Care for People (LCP) is a Non-governmental Organization registered in Ireland to create awareness about family violence, poverty and social exclusion through education, vocational skills training, community outreach programmes, and survivor support in collaboration with governments, grass-root organisations and NGOs. As part of our poverty elevation programme and support for women from low income families in rural African communities, we will love to establish a micro finance institution where women in Nsit-Ibom local government area of Akwa-Ibom state can get a loan/access funds to start a business. Low income or the lack of it impacts of a woman's general well being. It can also make her susceptible to abuse, exploitation and poor health outcomes. Having access to funds and being able to generate an income will provide opportunities for a woman to earn, save, access better health care and ultimately create a better live for herself and her family.
