Requirements
Assistance required to build a website - preferably using wordpress. Domain and hosting already purchased for three years. Website will be in English and Mongolian but language skills will not be required. One home page in Mongolian with approx five tabs. Most tabs can just expand, but one will need to provide extensive links to downloadable PDF resources. English home page will not require downloadable links. Our organisation has not been able to create and run a website for the last five years. A website would improve our ability to provide resources to remote communities in Mongolia, would help donors connect with our work, and would help potential victims of trafficking and sexual violence find out how and where to get the help they require.
The Mongolian Gender Equality Center has been working for gender equality in Mongolia since 2002. They are the only provider of services to victims of human trafficking and have repatriated and rehabilitated hundreds of Mongolian women who were trafficked into forced marriage, domestic labour and sexual exploitation. The MGEC is working to educate women and girls about human and reproductive rights and needs a website to provide digital resources to citizens in remote areas. The MGEC also has extensive manuals for teachers, police and social workers (etc), to make these available for download we require a secure website. The MGEC is also under increasing pressure to find ongoing sources of alternative funding as government support is not financial. To provide an interface for prospective donors a website is essential.
Experience creating and designing websites is essential, experience working with wordpress and building secure sites that can withstand hacking attempts. It is especially valuable if you can assist the organisation with ideas for structuring the information. Please upload your CV with your application and provide links to websites you have developed.
