Background and objectives

Morobe Development Foundation Inc (MDF) is looking for online volunteers who are experienced in proposal writing to assist the foundations co-leader in researching, editing and providing advice in the areas of Solid Waste and Resource Management The Volunteer will not be asked to submit proposals on behalf of MDF. The work and the area of concern will be on Solid Waste Management, Hazardous Waste Management and Environmental Management in general. The volunteer must have carried out research in Solid and Hazardous Management as well as Hygiene and Sanitation. The volunteer must have a Master Degree in Environmental Engineering specifically in Solid Waste and Resource Management

This project is specifically on Solid Waste Management and Hazardous Waste Management in the Municipal areas of Papua New Guinea. The project will look at ways to further improve the current practice in Solid Waste Management in Urban Papua New Guinea, according to Internationally recognized best practice and standard. Morobe Development Foundation Inc for the past years have been involved in community development projects and this project will also look at ways to tackle the growing problem in the cities of Papua New Guinea in terms of Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste Management practices which In a way or the other can affect the communities water source when the waterway is contaminated. The volunteer we are looking for must have greater knowledge in good management practice and must be able to interpret environmental laws and policies. He or she must be able to communicate effectively with the Foundations contact person and must be open and have a good communication and collaborative skills. The volunteer we are looking for must have a good research and interpretation skills to further carry out research On any topic of concerned in solid waste.
Volunteers: 3 needed
1-5 hours per week / 12 weeks
We seek highly qualified volunteers with a Masters Degree Environmental Engineering more specifically in Solid Waste and Resource Management We also welcome full-time students in the field of Solid Waste and Resource Management to apply for this opportunity. The volunteer must have experience in the use of Mendeley, ORC ID, Scopus and other related research application. He/she must be good in English with a good working habit
