Background and objectives
Morobe Development Foundation Inc is looking for a expert radio awareness script writer who can write up a small radio script plan for one of our awareness on Austral-Asian Passerine Conservation Awareness Through Bird Acoustics and Indigenous Knowledge in YUS Conservation Area in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. Of the species recorded, at least 20 families under Order Passeriformes, including the family of Birds-of-Paradise (Family Paradisaeidae), are represented in YUS CA making the protected area important for forest-dwelling passerines.

Targeting no less than 5,000 indigenous village people of TepTep Kabwum LLG within the YUS CA as project beneficiaries, the proposed project aims to: 1. To measure the level of awareness among target beneficiaries that will serve as basis in the implementation of the conservation education and community outreach campaign; 2. To increase the awareness of target beneficiaries in forest conservation by deepening their knowledge and understanding of the social, ecological and economic importance of ecosystems; 3. To improve the understanding among target beneficiaries on the roles of birds as ecological indicators for the status and changing forest conditions.
Volunteers: 1 needed
6-10 hours per week / 3 weeks
The volunteer must be able to work towards a set deadline, must be creative and have experience in radio awareness play development, advocacy and awareness in the areas of flora and fauna conservation. He/She must have qualification in arts, communication or Journalism. Please send in your detailed resume outlining your past experience and qualification when applying.
