Background and objectives
Prison Insider is looking for nine volunteer translators (French into English) and nine proofreaders to help us with our new comparative study on mental health in eight European prisons. This study offers an analysis of the treatment of offenders with mental disorders in eight European countries. We will need one translator and one proofreader per country (around 3,500 and 4,600 words) and one translator and one proofreader for the analysis. We are currently working on the latter stages of the project, and we expect to have it finished in the next few weeks.
Translation and interpretation
Prison Insider is an information platform on prisons in the world. Its objective is to inform, compare and share testimonial on conditions of detention, with regard to fundamental rights. The platform collects, verifies and synthesizes existing data. It produces knowledge and makes it accessible to the greatest number of people - in accessible language and in English, French and Spanish. All our information is made public via our website, with dissemination via newsletters and social media. Its purpose is to make information available for action.
Volunteers: 18 needed
11-20 hours per week / 4 weeks
English native language, excellent writting skills, translation experience, and a good comprehension of the French language.
