Background and objectives
Grant proposals require a variety of documents, such as a cover letter, project narrative, and supporting information, which might include things like letters of endorsement from members of the community. Through these documents, grant writers explain why a cause is important and how the funds will be used. “The writing tells a story,”. “It’s factual, motivational, visual, and inviting.” In drafting the proposal, writers must follow the grant’s guidelines, such as ensuring that the organization meets eligibility requirements, and provide a budget that outlines how the grant money would be spent. Volunteers will not submit any funding requests to donors on behalf of the organization.

Resource mobilization, partnership and donor coordination
Cambio is a social business of the NGO Niños de Guatemala. It is a registered for-profit business donating 100% of its net profit to charity. The aim of social businesses is to allow NGOs to create sustainable source of income long-term. As Cambio donates 100% of net profit to Niños de Guatemala annually, a key obstacle for expansion is obtaining capital to invest in growth. For this reason Cambio is looking to obtain seed or startup funding, which is ideally, no refundable to fund new business. Recently Cambio participated as a finalist in the entrepreneurial event Antigua 10X. This was our first application for such events and the goal for 2017 is to set up a worldwide team allowing us to create a grants and competitions database and make the crucial applications which will allow us to grow the business and donation to NDG NGO annually creating a sustainable revenue source for the charity to break the cycle of poverty through the education of nearly 500 guatemalan children.
