Background and objectives
The Online Volunteer with experience as webmaster will collaborate with our Communications department as well as with other departments to manage our website and keep it updated, as needed, in terms of appearance, content and compatibility. Fixing links and pictures that aren't appearing properly, testing website for usability, testing different browsers for compatibility. Work with technology-challenged staff members in staying savvy on new systems or applications we may employ.

Peacebuilding Solutions (PS) is a humanitarian aid non-profit that offers a technologically and culturally sensitive approach to re-stabilize the livelihoods of people who have become refugees or internally displaced persons. We conduct research to understand and outline the needs of people who have become refugees or internally displaced persons (IDPs) in order to provide the game-changing humanitarian aid that facilitates communities to rebuild and advance on their own terms. The hole in our team we're wanting to fill: PS needs an Online Volunteer with experience as Webmaster who is excited to represent our organization and mission! This assignment is vital to our mission to display who we really are and what we do to those who aren't familiar with us.
Volunteers: 1 needed
11-20 hours per week / 26 weeks
You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You have a degree and/or experience in graphic design or web development. Non-profit experience is a plus but not required. You are successfully self-motivated and able to work without excessive supervision. You have intermediate to proficient technology skills. Knowledge on or a willingness to learn about the United Nations. You have experience in server hosting (specifically Bluehost or Wordpress) as well as website builders.

Before jumping in as an online volunteer, make sure you have:

Access to the Internet and the right tools. You’ll need reliable Internet access, as well as regular access to a communication device, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer. 

Time. Decide how much time you can realistically devote to your online volunteering activities. Once you select a daily or weekly time range, you’ll be counted on to honour your commitment.

Availability. You’ll need to make yourself available for any teleconferences, meetings or check-ins required by the organization for which you’re volunteering.
