Requirements
PEOI, a provider of university level courses free of charge, seeks authors with a background in teaching or work experience, who would like to join a group of colleagues developing a course in biostatistics or econometrics and numerous other courses in statistics. You are welcome to work on chapter text, cases, assignments, reading lists, summaries, class discussions, review and test questions, as well as research and add examples, statistics and citations.All PEOI's course pages are in HTML. You will not be responsible for any HTML code, but only for the text in between. Content can be imported from open education resources, i.e. material that is not copyright restricted such as in wikipedia or courseware at major universities. You must have the skills to locate and import such material. Depending on your qualifications you may be called upon to grade assignments, monitor class discussions or answer student questions.
PEOI is a non-profit organization started in 1999, and now run by over 8000 volunteers, that delivers complete university level courses online at www.peoi.org in eleven languages free of charge. PEOI's courses include interconnected learning tools with submission of assignments, class discussions and automated graded tests, that allow PEOI to award course completion certificates.
Advanced university degree is a MUST. Teaching in university or work experience in related field desirable. Advanced computer skills since all work is done online, and you must learn how to navigate PEOI's platform and master PEOI's online procedures. Please submit CV. PEOI's courses are normally first written in English, but they can also be developed in French, Spanish or any of PEOI's operating languages.

  4. Once you’ve completed your assignment, submit a feedback form telling us about your experience. You’ll need this in order to receive…
  5. …your well-earned certificate of appreciation from the organization with which you volunteered, acknowledging your hard work and achievements!

Before jumping in as an online volunteer, make sure you have:

Access to the Internet and the right tools. You’ll need reliable Internet access, as well as regular access to a communication device, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer. 

Time. Decide how much time you can realistically devote to your online volunteering activities. Once you select a daily or weekly time range, you’ll be counted on to honour your commitment.

Availability. You’ll need to make yourself available for any teleconferences, meetings or check-ins required by the organization for which you’re volunteering.
