Requirements
RESPECT International requires one or more volunteers to re-activate our current website and then work with the coordinator of this project to refine and redesign the website over time. The coordinator for RESPECT lost the domain name for the website over the Summer of 2017. A new domain name was purchased but we could not determine a file to link to in order to view a functional website. The first task will be to bring the website back to life. After this is complete we can assess the functionality and design of the website together and make a decision about how to best refine it over time. RESPECT is an engine for connecting refugee communities to non-refugee communities by pen pal letter exchange. Our website is the sole portal towards this end.

The mission of the Refugee Education Sponsorship Program is to raise awareness of refugee issues amongst students in participating countries, to build bridges between refugee and non-refugee students through pen-pal letter exchange, and to encourage youth to organize refugee-awareness raising events and to raise funds for their partner refugee schools.

Keep this in mind:

Most organizations find the volunteers they need within just a few days and close the opportunities to more applications. So if you see a project that interests you, apply right away and make sure that you show the organization that you have the right skills and motivation for the task!

Online volunteering is rewarding and empowering, but it’s also a serious commitment. When you are chosen for an assignment, the organization is counting on you to complete it.

Our online volunteer community is made up of bright, dynamic, committed individuals who enjoy bringing out the best in each other and in the organizations they serve. We expect all volunteers to maintain high standards of behaviour, and to refrain from any activity that could be detrimental to the assignment, the organization, other volunteers, or to UNV. By registering you accept that you do not make any financial claims to organizations or to UNV. See the Terms of Use for more about standards of conduct and the conditions for using this platform.
