Requirements
RESPECT International has a LARGE website including archives of past ezines, translations in various language and profile pages for various affiliated organizations. We need one online volunteer who is able to update pages as necessary. This will involve working with representatives of war-affected communities directly via email to determine the nature of updates. Must be able to independently upload revisions. Each month we will assign one or more tasks for updating and maintaining the website in consultation with the selected volunteer. We can consult as the month progresses and review the success of the work by the end of the month. Our webmaster, now retired, may be willing to offer some consultation in the initial phases of the volunteer position. All communication will take place by email including that between the volunteer, our affiliates and us. Online volunteers will receive due credit for their contribution.

The mission of the Refugee Education Sponsorship Program is to raise awareness of refugee issues amongst students in participating countries, to build bridges between refugee and non-refugee students through pen-pal letter exchange, and to encourage youth to organize refugee-awareness raising events and to raise funds for their partner refugee schools. RESPECT International works to build awareness of refugee issues in part through a global letter exchange program. This work has been extensively documented on our website. As such our website is a critical tool to create awareness of refugee issues around the world. We want to raise awareness of refugee issues through an updated an informative website.

Keep this in mind:

Most organizations find the volunteers they need within just a few days and close the opportunities to more applications. So if you see a project that interests you, apply right away and make sure that you show the organization that you have the right skills and motivation for the task!

Online volunteering is rewarding and empowering, but it’s also a serious commitment. When you are chosen for an assignment, the organization is counting on you to complete it.

Our online volunteer community is made up of bright, dynamic, committed individuals who enjoy bringing out the best in each other and in the organizations they serve. We expect all volunteers to maintain high standards of behaviour, and to refrain from any activity that could be detrimental to the assignment, the organization, other volunteers, or to UNV. By registering you accept that you do not make any financial claims to organizations or to UNV. See the Terms of Use for more about standards of conduct and the conditions for using this platform.
