Background and objectives
We are looking for online volunteers to support us in securing the funding of our projects by writing grant proposals and providing support materials. To develop their proposals, volunteers will need to first familiarize themselves with our projects, goals and financial needs. We have 3 main projects in focus: Donor support to old people (empowering ageing people through income generating activities), Eye care (provide eye glasses and drugs) in our Center in Bambui, Advocacy and outreach (reach and support ID ageing persons with basic needs) in Cameroon. Volunteers should look into potential funding sources for these projects. After composing all the needed information, volunteers shall compose appropriate grant proposals. However, volunteers will not be asked to submit proposals on behalf of the organization. The tasks do not end here: it is crucial to keep track of all applications afterwards, provide additional information if a grant making organization needs any.

Our goal is to present our projects to various grants and corporate fundings to sponsor our activities and programs for 2020. Our main thematic focuses for this year are health education and income generation education. More information can be found on our website. Having experience in these fields is an advantage, but having a passion towards our projects is a must! Our aim is to renew our applications and look into potential new funding sources.

Keep this in mind:

Most organizations find the volunteers they need within just a few days and close the opportunities to more applications. So if you see a project that interests you, apply right away and make sure that you show the organization that you have the right skills and motivation for the task!

Online volunteering is rewarding and empowering, but it’s also a serious commitment. When you are chosen for an assignment, the organization is counting on you to complete it.

Our online volunteer community is made up of bright, dynamic, committed individuals who enjoy bringing out the best in each other and in the organizations they serve. We expect all volunteers to maintain high standards of behaviour, and to refrain from any activity that could be detrimental to the assignment, the organization, other volunteers, or to UNV. By registering you accept that you do not make any financial claims to organizations or to UNV. See the Terms of Use for more about standards of conduct and the conditions for using this platform.
