Background and objectives
We are seeking online volunteers to help us find and upload Open Sourced digital learning resources (in the form of pdf's, YouTube videos or Android Apps) to the Rumie LearnCloud. We are looking for online Arabic resources to support learners of all ages. We have people from 3-93 all using the Rumie solution! Examples of resources can include early childhood education resources, language learning resources, math, science and engineering resources, or newcomer resources. The resources that are uploaded and shared on the LearnCloud will be used to support learning by students in offline communities. Volunteers who add 3 or more collections with 5 or more pieces of content in each collection will be issued a certificate in recognition of their volunteer contributions.
None in particular
The Rumie Initiative is a non-profit with the vision of a world where everyone has equal access to learning. Our mission is to mobilize the power of collaboration to improve access to quality digital learning resources. Rumie’s approach begins with the LearnCloud - an online repository of high quality, digital, educational content which is crowdsourced by educators and other passionate volunteers in different languages and for different contexts. Rumie then works with local on-the-ground program partners around the world who choose the learning material that is most appropriate for their unique context and load that content onto the specialized Rumie Tablet or any personal Android device via the Rumie App for offline use.
Volunteers: 25 needed
6-10 hours per week / 4 weeks
Online volunteers will need access to a computer and the internet to upload learning resources. Volunteers who are fluent in Arabic and can find credible Arabic resources are preferred.

Keep this in mind:

Most organizations find the volunteers they need within just a few days and close the opportunities to more applications. So if you see a project that interests you, apply right away and make sure that you show the organization that you have the right skills and motivation for the task!

Online volunteering is rewarding and empowering, but it’s also a serious commitment. When you are chosen for an assignment, the organization is counting on you to complete it.

Our online volunteer community is made up of bright, dynamic, committed individuals who enjoy bringing out the best in each other and in the organizations they serve. We expect all volunteers to maintain high standards of behaviour, and to refrain from any activity that could be detrimental to the assignment, the organization, other volunteers, or to UNV. By registering you accept that you do not make any financial claims to organizations or to UNV. See the Terms of Use for more about standards of conduct and the conditions for using this platform.
