We are looking for someone with exceptional writing, proof reading and editing skills to help us make sure our Business Plans and subsequent grant applications are in the best shape they could possibly be in. You will work closely with Founder and Campaign Manager Andy and communicate online, through email and Skype etc. Andy will write the proposals, but needs help with the proof reading and fine tuning. We currently are working on 1 Business Plan that is 22 pages long and a grant proposal that is ten pages long. We hope to develop 2-3 other Business Plans and strategy documents also.

Journalism, mass media and broadcasting
In the first 10 years of SCOOP we have never actually ever applied for a grant or for major corporate support. Our main sources of income have been events and digital fundraising campaigns, so this is a big step for us. We are a relatively small organisation and wish to remain so. Successful grants will help to run the organisation (10-15%) but the majority of the grants / donations will go straight to the projects, whether our schools for impoverished children, our humanitarian projects in Syria, Iraq or Yemen, or homelessness projects on our own doorstep in Dublin, Ireland.
Volunteers: 1 needed
1-5 hours per week / 6 weeks
Native English speakers only, past experience with proof reading and editing essential.

Keep this in mind:

Most organizations find the volunteers they need within just a few days and close the opportunities to more applications. So if you see a project that interests you, apply right away and make sure that you show the organization that you have the right skills and motivation for the task!

Online volunteering is rewarding and empowering, but it’s also a serious commitment. When you are chosen for an assignment, the organization is counting on you to complete it.

Our online volunteer community is made up of bright, dynamic, committed individuals who enjoy bringing out the best in each other and in the organizations they serve. We expect all volunteers to maintain high standards of behaviour, and to refrain from any activity that could be detrimental to the assignment, the organization, other volunteers, or to UNV. By registering you accept that you do not make any financial claims to organizations or to UNV. See the Terms of Use for more about standards of conduct and the conditions for using this platform.
