The Children and Youth division of the INGO Search for Common Ground is looking for the support of volunteers for the translation of a critical peacebuilding toolkit for understanding the way that youth organize formally and informally, “Mapping Youth Leaders for Peacebuilding.” We have divided the translation project into 4 parts, and this specific task focuses on translating the introduction (7 pages) of the toolkit. You will work in collaboration with a member of the Search team who will review your work and with whom you can discuss any questions you may have over email and through online calls. Through the translation and design work, volunteers will have the opportunity to learn more about peacebuilding approaches and applications. Both the English and French version will be available on our organisation website. If you wish so, you will be credited for your work by having your name as translator appearing on the final version of the document.

Translation and interpretation
Search for Common Ground (Search) is an international non-profit organization operating in over 30 countries whose mission is to transform the way the world deals with conflict away from adversarial approaches toward cooperative solutions. Our Children & Youth programs aim to enable and empower young people to drive change and transform conflict in their communities. Our programs range in topic from peace education and youth-focused TV and radio shows, to leadership training, interfaith dialogue, and preventing violent extremism. Building upon young people’s capacities and recognizing their agency, our programs enable children and youth to transform their communities, be recognized as peacemakers, and gain the respect of their adult counterparts. The organization regularly publishes tools and resources (such as this toolkit) to guide the work of our teams in the field, among other things, and translating our documents allows new audiences to better support youth participation in peacebuilding around the world.
