Background and objectives
We are looking for volunteers with two unique skill sets to create an AYM Ecotourism program extension website - a Web Developer and a Web Designer. The purpose of the site is to help our volunteers and future Eco Tourists learn about the beneficiary communities. Both volunteers must be at advanced stages of their skills. The volunteers will use a premium WP theme developed specifically for small or medium towns and cities and ideal for local and municipality websites. The Theme comes with a native town/city layout and includes fresh, elegant, and modern design elements. The complete project must reflect a professionally functional customized website that highlights the municipality and communities within the AYM ecotourism program. We expect both volunteers to work together in collaboration with the AYM team via email and Video Conferencing. AYM will buy website theme, domain name, and hosting for the site.
Technology development
Arts, music, photography and film
Volunteers and other stakeholders are always asking us to tell them about Mattru Jong, the AYM geo-operational area in Sierra Leone. Developing a website focusing on the township, its villages, natural beauties, and the administration would help AYM answer most of the questions we get. The site will also help AYM to promote its varied ecotourism program activities, market its other events, and create interest for the Mattru Jong community to its online visitors. The website will also connect the global ecotourism industry to the local stakeholders in Mattru Jong, providing a means of learning and helping to share or bring ideas about development using its virtual platform. The Web Designer will work on the aesthetic portion of the website and its usability and, the Web Developer will work on the website design and make a functioning website from it. Web developers use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and other programming languages to bring to life the design files.
