Background and objectives
The Human Rights Mainstreaming Coordination team is producing a publication with the title "Alternative Solutions to Forced Evictions and Slum Demolitions". The aim is to have a highly visual publication that illustrates global examples of where forced eviction has been avoided. The Human Rights Mainstreaming Coordination team would like to engage the services of an online volunteer with design skills and experience to design the publication. The publication is approximately 45 pages. We will produce the content, and the designer will have the responsibility of making it illustrative. Communication will be via email. The online UNV will work directly with the Human Rights Officer at UN-Habitat. The task is expected to take three weeks. Availability is flexible.

The publication prescribes short-term, medium term and long-term strategies and interventions that have prevented forced evictions and mitigated the risks of evictions that have taken place with case studies from Africa, Asia, Central and South America
Volunteers: 1 needed
11-20 hours per week / 2 weeks
The Online Volunteer will need strong skills in use of InDesign or Illustrator, or similar. Must have good attention to detail and be able to work within agreed upon timelines. The designer will be given previous reports as examples. Designer will be able to contact UN-Habitat team frequently and be given as much guidance as needed.
