Design and implement your own digital campaign to advocate and raise awareness for the SDGs in Asia-Pacific

Background and objectives
Online Advocates will be expected to: 1) Design campaign messages using the templates and tools provided; 2) Identify online platforms to post the messages and engage the public; 3) Monitor responses from the targeted audiences on a weekly basis; 4) Contribute "Human of MY World" stories and other blogs (optional); 5) Provide a final report (template will be provided) with the overall online audience reach. The assignment will start with an orientation of volunteers through an online webinar on “How to Collect Votes Online and Maximize your Digital Impact” organized for the volunteers by the UN SDG Action Campaign and/or UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub. It will be followed by responsibility allocations and regular meetings to monitor and evaluate online campaign activities. We are looking for up to 50 online volunteers who -over 12 weeks- will learn to design and implement an online social media campaign in support of the vote collection for the MY World survey (

According to nearly 400,000 responses from MY World 2030, a UN-led global people’s survey on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 38 per cent of the respondents were not aware of the SDGs. At the same time, it is understood that all people need to play a part in achieving them. To make sure no one is left behind, there is an urgent imperative to raise awareness and to cultivate a sense of ownership on the SDGs among individuals, communities and the public at large. But how can people best be reached and informed about sustainable development? How can we mobilize people to engage in this global movement? In response to this imperative, MY World 2030 is designed as a people-driven advocacy and awareness-raising initiative on the SDGs. Under the overall framework of MY World 2030 initiative, this digital campaign will contribute to three key objectives: 1) Raise awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on social media; 2) Collect citizen data and inputs on SDG priorities using the MY World 2030 survey; 3) Advocate for people’s engagement in the implementation of the SDGs.
Volunteers: 25 needed
6-10 hours per week / 20 weeks
The task requires online volunteers who have good communication skills, computer literate, knowledgeable about online marketing and social media. The volunteers should be passionate about the achievement of the SDGs and be goal oriented. Any qualification in the field of journalism, public relations, communication technologies, media, social work and social marketing will be relevant. Candidates should be available 6-10 hours per week for 12 weeks.
