Background and objectives
From the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH) we are supporting 24 country offices in the preparation of research reports, marketing materials and project documents. We seek the support of online volunteers with English proofreading experience to edit and proofread evaluation reports, project reports, proposals and communication and knowledge products of a maximal average length up to approximately 20 pages. While Volunteers should provide constructive feedback and suggestions on the style, tone, flow and coherence of documents, BRH assumes full responsibility for the approval of the documents' final version. Consultations will be by email through the coordinator at BRH, both will agree on number of feedback iterations and on a deadline for finalizing the mentioned documents. Volunteers will be fully credited on the final product.

Through this assignment, volunteers will support the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH) in assisting the country offices in the Asia Pacific region with proofreading and editing of high-level technical and communication materials as English may not be their native language. The support offered by BRH will increase the general level of publications and through that enable country offices, especially some smaller officess, to report more and/or release more materials. Online volunteers collaborating successfully on this task are welcome to apply to future, similar opportunities.
Volunteers: 25 needed
6-10 hours per week / 12 weeks
A first-level degree in English, journalism, or communications with a Masters' degree preferred. Strong background in editing, proofreading, either in journalism or in the literary world or in non-profit organizations is an asset. Demonstrated experience in editing research papers, news stories or press releases is essential. Fluency in English - both speaking and grammar.
