Task
Background and objectives
Requirements
The Equator Initiative has created detailed case studies on Equator Prize winners: a growing network of local sustainable development solutions for people, nature, and communities. Since most case studies are currently only in English, we are hoping to get all of them translated into the communities' local language(s). We require two UN Online Volunteers to help us translate a 10-page case study, from English to Bahasa, and to help us proofread the translation. The case study will be emailed to the selected volunteers. The volunteers will be acknowledged in the case study they help translate. We will select one volunteer to conduct the initial translation, and one to proofread the translation.

Translation and interpretation
The Equator Initiative works with partners to identify, document, and analyze the success factors of local best practice, and to catalyze ongoing peer-to-peer learning, knowledge exchange and replication of best practice. The Equator Initiative accomplishes this through three action areas. the Equator Prize, the Equator Dialogues and Equator Knowledge. which is a research, documentation, and learning program. The case studies are part of Equator Knowledge.

Keep this in mind:

Most organizations find the volunteers they need within just a few days and close the opportunities to more applications. So if you see a project that interests you, apply right away and make sure that you show the organization that you have the right skills and motivation for the task!

Online volunteering is rewarding and empowering, but it’s also a serious commitment. When you are chosen for an assignment, the organization is counting on you to complete it.

Our online volunteer community is made up of bright, dynamic, committed individuals who enjoy bringing out the best in each other and in the organizations they serve. We expect all volunteers to maintain high standards of behaviour, and to refrain from any activity that could be detrimental to the assignment, the organization, other volunteers, or to UNV. By registering you accept that you do not make any financial claims to organizations or to UNV. See the Terms of Use for more about standards of conduct and the conditions for using this platform.
