Requirements
We are looking for UN Online Volunteers to help us translate the Equator Prize 2020 nomination form and related outreach materials from English to Chinese. The Equator Prize is awarded to recognize and advance local sustainable development solutions for people, nature and resilient communities. As local and indigenous groups across the world chart a path towards sustainable development, the Equator Prize shines a spotlight on their efforts on an international stage. The nomination form and related materials (such as short texts, and descriptors of online forms) will be emailed to the selected volunteers. The length of the English source document will be about 2,700-3,000 words. We will select one volunteer to conduct the initial translation, and one to proofread the translation.

The Equator Initiative works with partners to identify, document, and analyze the success factors of local best practice, and to catalyze ongoing peer-to-peer learning, knowledge exchange and replication of best practice. The Equator Initiative accomplishes this through three action areas: the Equator Prize, the Equator Dialogues and Equator Knowledge. The Equator Prize is our flagship event, used to surface the most innovative sustainable development and climate change solutions at the local level.
