Task
Background and objectives
Requirements
UNDP requires two volunteers: one volunteer to translate a UNDP report of about 35 pages from English into French. The second volunteer will proofread the translated version of the report. The volunteers can work flexible hours and can divide the work in a way that best suits them. The main contact person for the report will be UNDP's Health and Development Team consultant, and communication will follow through email. Online Volunteers will be accredited in the final report by name as having contributed to the report's translation.

Translation and interpretation
UNDP has prepared an investment case for tobacco control for Madagascar. The investment case is one of 15 UNDP is working on together with the Secretariat to the Framework Convention for Tobacco Control under the project titled FCTC 2030. The investment case is a cost-benefit analysis that quantifies the economic burden of tobacco and the economic benefits of tobacco control (for example, banning smoking indoors). The volunteers will translate/proofread the report into French which will be presented to a number of Ministers and others during a high-profile hand-over event to be scheduled this summer.
Volunteers: 2 needed
11-20 hours per week / 2 weeks
Level of fluency in French: native speaker. Professional experience in translation is a must, Preferably, the volunteers will have knowledge/familiarity of UN-reports and products in English and French. Volunteer assignment will require a high degree of attention to detail. Preferably, candidates will have some knowledge of economic terms and concepts. Candidates may be asked to translate a short paragraph as part of the selection process. Please upload your CV in English.
