Background and objectives
We are looking for online volunteers to participate in the 5th session of the Ambassadors Programme! This involves activities related to online content production and communications for the platform, which is hosted by the IPC-IG/UNDP. Ambassadors will have their profiles featured on and receive a certificate for their participation. Each Ambassador will be assigned activities depending on their skill set and country/regional expertise. is a member-based platform, meaning content is uploaded by members to support knowledge sharing and capacity building. For the 2018 Ambassadors Programme, the team will assign and coordinate activities related to blog writing and copy editing.

About The platform’s mission is to be the online focal point of social protection knowledge-sharing and capacity building among a highly inclusive community of social protection practitioners, focusing on low and middle-income countries. is an unbranded online platform hosted by the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG), supported by the Development Working Group of the G20 and financed by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ). Objectives: - To ensure up-to-date and relevant content regarding the Ambassador’s regional or thematic interests is available on the site - To promote and provide opportunities for engagement with the site’s interactive features to the Ambassador’s network - To increase visibility of within the Ambassador’s region and/or network - To facilitate engagement among social protection communities within the Ambassador’s region/network
Volunteers: 25 needed
1-5 hours per week / 19 weeks
1. Experience in the areas of journalism and public information is an asset. 2. Experience in blog writing, copy editing or research is a must 3. Excellent computer skills 4. Basic knowledge of social protection policies and programmes. 5. Independent internet and laptop access.

Before jumping in as an online volunteer, make sure you have:

Access to the Internet and the right tools. You’ll need reliable Internet access, as well as regular access to a communication device, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer. 

Time. Decide how much time you can realistically devote to your online volunteering activities. Once you select a daily or weekly time range, you’ll be counted on to honour your commitment.

Availability. You’ll need to make yourself available for any teleconferences, meetings or check-ins required by the organization for which you’re volunteering.
