Background and objectives
We seek UN Online Volunteers to translate a document for the Social and Environmental Compliance Unit (SECU) at the UNDP. SECU helps communities protect their social and environmental rights by investigating allegations of non-compliance with UNDP's Social and Environmental Standards. The total amount of text is approximately 1 page. We will select two volunteers. The first will do the initial translation. The second will do quality control/editing. If the volunteers are able to provide further assistance, more online volunteering opportunities will be available soon. Online volunteers will receive due credit for their contribution.
Translation and interpretation
The Social and Environmental Compliance Unit (SECU) is UNDP's independent social and environmental accountability mechanism tasked with ensuring that UNDP projects respect communities' rights around the world. Learn more at

6-10 hours per week / 2 weeks
Native Persian speaker, fluent in English. Experience translating required. Experience in international affairs/development/relations a huge plus. Please upload your CV in English in your application.

Before jumping in as an online volunteer, make sure you have:

Access to the Internet and the right tools. You’ll need reliable Internet access, as well as regular access to a communication device, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer. 

Time. Decide how much time you can realistically devote to your online volunteering activities. Once you select a daily or weekly time range, you’ll be counted on to honour your commitment.

Availability. You’ll need to make yourself available for any teleconferences, meetings or check-ins required by the organization for which you’re volunteering.
