Requirements
We seek an UN Online Volunteer to translate from English to French the content of a brochure on the Task Force on Displacement, a group established by the UNFCCC Executive Committee for Loss and Damage. The total amount of words is approximately 610. We will select one volunteer. The online volunteer will receive due credit for their contribution.The substantive contents of the brochure describe the mandate, structure and work of Task Force on Displacement, a group established by the UNFCCC Executive Committee for Loss and Damage. More information about the Task Force is available at www.unfccc.int/9978. You will be in regular contact with our team via email/skype who will provide guidance and feedback on interim versions.
The Loss and Damage team of the UN Climate Change Office is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage associated with Climate Change Impacts (see more at www.unfccc.int/7543) under the UNFCCC process. The theme of migration, displacement and human mobility is a central area of the work of the Warsaw International Mechanism, which contributes, in particular, to SDGs 13 and 10, target 10.7 (facilitate orderly, safe, regular and responsible migration and mobility of people, including through the implementation of planned and well-managed migration policies), among others. Product(s) to be developed under this project will serve for awareness raising and wider dissemination to increase public understanding about the work of the Task Force.
Native French speaker, fluent in English. Familiarity with UN term is an asset. Please upload your CV in English in your application and sample translated work.

Before jumping in as an online volunteer, make sure you have:

Access to the Internet and the right tools. You’ll need reliable Internet access, as well as regular access to a communication device, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer. 

Time. Decide how much time you can realistically devote to your online volunteering activities. Once you select a daily or weekly time range, you’ll be counted on to honour your commitment.

Availability. You’ll need to make yourself available for any teleconferences, meetings or check-ins required by the organization for which you’re volunteering.
