Background and objectives
In order to make the publication "Guide for Mother and Baby Corners (MBC)" available to persons engaged in Migrant Centers in Serbia, in which both mothers and children under 5 years of age are cared for, UNICEF intends to make the publication available on its website. For this reason, it is required that the document is proofread prior to publishing.

Other communications related experience
In all emergencies, no matter how long they last and what caused them, children are always at the highest risk. The most vulnerable are the youngest children. That is the reason why the youngest children, from birth to 24 months of age, require access to tailored services from the field of health, nutrition, hygiene and early child development. For the youngest children from birth to 6 months, breast milk is the only necessary, most adequate and safe food. It is difficult to meet the hygienic needs of children in conditions of constant movement or limited sanitary conditions. Every move from child home violates his/her safety. For child prosperity, it is of crucial importance to ensure conditions for regular daily routines, as well as for good and relaxing sleeping. Caring for families with the youngest children should be a priority in emergency conditions. The consequences for children who are in longer period in inappropriate conditions may affect their development and even their lives. Support for these families should be organized and provided by trained professionals and volunteers within the Mother and Baby Corners established in majority Centers for migrants in Serbia.
