Task
Background and objectives
Requirements
The task involves the translation and proofreading one of five online courses from English into French. The online courses are : Introduction to Peace Operations; Women, Leadership and Peacebuilding; Leadership, Team and Self-Management in Conflict Settings; Understanding Conflict and Conflict Analysis. An additional online volunteer will be needed for the proofreading of the translations. Each course contains about 5000 words. Due credit will be given on the final product.

UNITAR is committed to providing access to quality learning opportunities for all onsite UN Volunteers as part of their professional journey and to enhancing knowledge and skills of onsite UN Volunteers in areas relevant to their responsibilities in the field. Therefore, UNITAR has developed several online courses tailored to the specific learning needs of onsite UN Volunteers. The objective of this particular project is to translate four online courses into French in order to expand the outreach and increase participation in these courses with the ultimate goal of developing global capacities for the promotion of peace and security. The translated products need to be delivered by 20 August 2019.
Volunteers: 5 needed
11-20 hours per week / 4 weeks
The online volunteer must have excellent translation skills (English to French) and some background knowledge of the conflict, peace and security context as the materials will heavily involve concepts, acronyms and technical terms related to such fields. Volunteers must have a native level of fluency in French and previous experience in translation would be useful. Candidate should specify in the application for which part (course 1, 2, 3, 4 or proofreading) they wish to be considered.
