Task
Background and objectives
Requirements
The task involves the translation and proofreading of project documents pertaining to youth and women entrepreneurship. Volunteers will be contacted intermittently based on necessity. The first volunteer will translate documents both from English to French and French to English and the second volunteer will proofread the translated text. The overall amount of work is approximate to 25 pages for the duration of the task. Thematic area: entrepreneurship, training, capacity building.

Translation and interpretation
United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is a training arm of the UN system with a mandate related to building capacities for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through outcome-based training and learning initiatives. The Division for Peace strives to support the (re-)establishment of peaceful, just and inclusive societies by enabling individuals, institutions and organizations to contribute meaningfully to sustainable peace. Against this backdrop, the Youth and Women's Empowerment within the Division for Peace is currently working on a project in collaboration with the African Union Liaison Office in Chad and a local NGO to build the capacity of 500 youth and women in entrepreneurship.
Volunteers: 2 needed
6-10 hours per week / 8 weeks
Previous experience in translation (English-French and French-English); Knowledge of the UN terminology and terminology related to entrepreneurship, education, training, capacity building; Previous experience in translation for international organizations is desirable.
