Production of short promo videos for five academic programmes in peace and security

Background and objectives
The task involves creating a set of promotional videos for advanced academic programmes, which the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) offers to mid- to upper-level professionals in partnership with universities. The new package will include: 1) 6 short animated videos of 30-60 seconds; 2) 2 longer videos of 2-3 minutes (putting together and editing). The final products will be disseminated through social media as teasers, embedded in catalogues and on the website. The products will include credits for the production. Volunteers will be provided with branding guidelines, draft scripts and some video cuts. Ideally, they should be able to support with script/storyboard writing as well. 2 volunteers are foreseen: one for animated videos, and one for longer ones, however the tasks can be reallocated depending on the volunteer’s profile and expertise.

UNITAR is a dedicated training arm of the United Nations system, whose mandate is to develop individual and institutional capacities for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through outcome-based training and learning initiatives. In relation to the Goal 16 of Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, UNITAR strives to support the (re-) establishment of peaceful, just and inclusive societies by enabling individuals and organisations to contribute meaningfully to sustainable peace. UNITAR Master degrees are fully accredited academic programmes, offered in partnership with the leading higher education institutions and designed to strengthen capacities and knowledge in the field of peace and security. The programmes are mostly delivered online offering a high degree of flexibility for mid- to senior-level professionals currently working in the field or whose assignments involve a lot of traveling. UNITAR is currently redesigning the entire promotional package for its Master programmes to be disseminated globally.
Volunteers: 2 needed
11-20 hours per week / 6 weeks
Required: Professional in video production and the related software (Adobe Premiere, Vyond (GoAnimate) or any other) – please, include your portfolio, applications without will not be considered; Excellent knowledge of English; Ability to respect branding guidelines and deadlines; Diligence; High level of creativity and uncommon approach. Desirable: Previous experience in public or non-profit sector and/or international organisations.
