Develop Reference Material in Support of Depressed Farmers in Vidarbha

Background and objectives
In line with the SDG no. 3 (Good Health and Well Being) we are developing a project plan for distress farmer's in Vidarbha. We need volunteers to prepare presentations or documents to clarify the solutions and methodology needed for farmers in danger of suicide. He/She is responsible of pinpointing the techniques (softwares/app/kits) or any methods to trace the depressed farmers so that their life can be saved. Volunteers should be able to explain to the NGO’s staff, about how to act and relief farmers according to the project plan. Thus, volunteers should provide us the enough reference material which will help our staff to trace the farmers in stress. Volunteers will not be asked to contact anybody accept our organization's staff. The volunteer should have a Skype or WhatsApp account for the future calls, he/she will be contacted by email also. Once he accomplishes his tasks, he will earn a certificate.

Its vision is to contribute for the present scenario of farmer’s suicide plight through the provision of basic climate change education, promoting awareness & employable skills, small enterprise development leading to income generation and employment in a sustainable way. However, Agriculture is a large economic sector and has a significant role in the socioeconomic development of India. Unfortunately, this sector is in crisis and farmer suicides had been reported from various states (Andhra Pradesh, Punjab Karnataka and Orissa). In Maharashtra, which is one of India’s most prosperous states, is facing a popular farmer’s suicides especially in the eastern region of the Indian state of Maharashtra: Vidarbha. This project is to address the issue of the farmers in Vidarbha aiming to reduce the suicide rate and to work on achieving a sustainable agriculture in this region.
Volunteers: 2 needed
1-5 hours per week / 8 weeks
- Bachelor in Psychology / Psychiatry - 1-year experience in practical cases. - Should demonstrate solutions on prevention and cure - Team Work, positive spirit
