Task
Background and objectives
Requirements
The UNV Regional Office in Amman is looking for 1 online volunteer to support UNV Yemen Field Unit in managing its Facebook Page, mainly by translating content from English to Arabic and post it on the page (a minimum of 5-7 posts/week, not necessarily every day). The volunteer will have to check regularly @UNVolunteers and @UNVArabStates Facebook Pages, identify content relevant for Yemen, share it English or translate it into Arabic and post it on @UNVYemen Facebook Page. Occasionally, the volunteer will support the Yemen UNV Field Unit in posting original content. The assignment requires a commitment of half an hour every day, 3,5-4 hours/week, plus attending a three-hours online training on social media management at the beginning of the assignment.

Administered by the United Nations Development Program, UNV was established in 1970 and contributes to peace and development through volunteerism around the world. We work to both mobilize volunteers for the United Nations Systems and to advocate for the importance of volunteerism in development worldwide. More specifically, the UNV Field Unit in Yemen seeks to mobilize and promote volunteerism in the Country to face the ongoing crisis. Through this assignment, the online volunteer will contribute to increasing awareness of the importance of volunteerism in Yemen and highlight opportunities for Yemeni Volunteers. The @UNVYemen Facebook Page has 22,000 followers. The Online Volunteer contribution will be acknowledged by posts on the Facebook Page and by the issuance of a Certificate.

1-5 hours per week / 24 weeks
The online volunteer should be familiar with the Yemeni context, have experience in managing social media accounts, familiarize her/himself with all the information published on UNV.org and onlinevolunteering.org websites and social media. S/he should be fluent in English and have excellent Arabic writing skills, including translation skills from English to Arabic.
