Translation and interpretation
Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals is dedicated to the promotion of peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, the provision of access to justice for all, and building effective, accountable institutions at all levels. This includes targets to reduce illicit arms flows, all forms of violence and related deaths and ensuring responsive, inclusive, participatory and transparent decision making at all levels. In addition, UNSCR 2250 on youth, peace and security reinforces the call for inclusion and participation of young people into decision-making processes related to peace and security, Currently indicators for each specific goal is being developed where the UN together with the government is seeking to ensure participation and ownership from citizens during this exercise. In this sense, the main objective of the project is to promote youth engagement and volunteerism as tools to ensure relevance of SDG 16 at the community level in LAC region.
